About

An acoustic guitar with a natural wood finish and a dark fretboard resting against a plain light background.

Lloyd Edward Guitars is built on a simple belief: that great instruments are made with care, patience, and respect for both materials and music. Every instrument and every course reflects a commitment to traditional craftsmanship and thoughtful, hands on learning.

Working with wood and sound is not just about following measurements and methods. It is about learning to listen, observe, and understand how an instrument comes together over time.

Our Approach

At Lloyd Edward Guitars, the focus is on learning well rather than learning quickly. Students are encouraged to take their time, ask questions, and develop a real understanding of their instrument at every stage of the build, learning how to work through challenges and build confidence along the way.

Meet Lloyd

With years of experience in instrument making and teaching, Lloyd brings a calm, practical approach to the workshop. His work is guided by traditional techniques, refined through ongoing hands on experience.

Above all, he believes that good teaching begins with listening, and that every student deserves time, encouragement, and clear guidance.

The Workshop

The workshop is a comfortable, well organised, and inspiring place to work, equipped with professional tools and carefully selected materials. Small class sizes ensure that every student receives personal guidance and practical support throughout their course.

There’s always a moment when your guitar is finished that we stop, gather around, and listen to its very first notes.

“Making guitars with Lloyd, I had such a fantastic time!

There was always a willingness to get right into the details, meet my current curiosity and yet also step back when needed so I could learn for myself, a wise teacher indeed.

He offers a great set of skills and tools... makes a cracking cup of coffee too!”
